The Reflection

The straw figure advances with its rough, earthly presence, while before it a face appears with an almost impossible clarity, as if it belonged to another dimension of the same landscape. I am drawn to that clash between the rugged and the vulnerable, between matter that carries history and an image that seems newly born. The scene poses a quiet question: which part of us is body, which is vision, and which slips away when we try to recognise ourselves.
