Ana’s Threshold of Memory

In this oil I am interested in the contrast between the ruined interior and the outdoor light — almost two times living in the same scene. The seated figure, seen from behind, introduces a quiet pause that lets light become the protagonist. I work here with the idea of transit: a space that comes undone and another that invites us out, as if the painting breathed between both.
