In this oil light is the true axis — a low, warm clarity that turns the coast into an almost suspended space. I work the contrast between dark rocks and the glow of the horizon, seeking an atmosphere more emotional than descriptive. The scene is born of that light that advances and dissolves, leaving a sense of halted calm. The title comes from the rocks that, when the tide goes out, suggest the shape of a horse. When the tide falls and the sun takes its leave, Zahara offers its most intimate face — a symphony of rocks, salt and golden light.
